Go Green 2.0 showcased CTRM commitment towards sustainability programs

In its effort to cultivate the eco-friendly practices among employees, CTRM HSE Dept has organized a one month Go Green 2.0 campaign which started from 11 November until 13 December 2019. Talks, exhibitions, quizzes and games, competitions and plogging activities were among the main avenues to nurture environmental consciousness among the staffs.

Themed ‘be responsible today for our future tomorrow’, the organizer has collaborated with a number of government agencies and private organizations to joint-participate through mini exhibitions, awareness campaigns, and talks. HSE in collaboration with HMS department have organized ‘Jom Plogging’, an activity where a massive 5s clean-up activities take place around CTRM compound, operation site and office. Go Green campaign is a great call for CTRM employees to understand and embrace the need to save the environment today for a better tomorrow.



Composites Technology Research Malaysia Sdn Bhd (“CTRM”), a member of the DRB-HICOM Group Companies signed a landmark Framework Contract with Strata Manufacturing (Strata), the advanced composite aero-structures manufacturing company wholly owned by Mubadala Investment Company PJSC for the supply of composite detail aircraft parts.

Under the 10-year agreement, which was signed today at Dubai Airshow 2019, CTRM will supply Strata with structural composite detail parts for aircraft components. The first shipment is due to arrive at Strata’s world-class Nibras Al Ain Aerospace Park production facility in the second quarter of 2020.
Shamsuddin Mohamed Yusof, CTRM’s Chief Executive Officer stressed that CTRM’s partnership with Strata will enhance its capacity to develop technology-based solutions for the advanced composites industry.
“The deal with Strata augments our key strategy to further expand our business and footprint in the industry. Through this strategic partnership, CTRM becomes the extended manufacturing arm and capacity provider for Strata. By leveraging on each other’s respective strengths and capabilities, CTRM and Strata will complement each other in capacity and capabilities towards strengthening our position in this aerospace industry,” said Shamsuddin.
Meanwhile, Ismail Ali Abdulla, CEO of Strata, said “By outsourcing sub-tier business functions to CTRM with proven track record of excellence, Strata can place a greater focus on core manufacturing activities and take full control of the end-to-end supply chain. This partnership will enable Strata to continue exceeding customers’ expectations in terms of cost-efficient delivery.”

Shamsuddin signed the contract for CTRM, meanwhile Strata was represented by Ismail Ali Abdulla.

CTRM Testing Laboratory at Lab Asia 2019

CTRM Testing Laboratory, a subsidiary of CTRM specializing in the inspection and testing services, participated in Lab Asia 2019 Exhibition held in Kuala Lumpur recently. Led by Mohd Taufik Nordin, Head of Company, the team showcased the wide range of capabilities, material specimens and qualifications of current business activities in both testing and calibration, as part of their advertising and promotional activities which target both local and regional markets. The 3 days event was officiated by YB Yeo Bee Yin, Minister for Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC). CTRM TL also introduced two new technical partners; IS Groupe (France) which focus on oil and gas inspection and testing services, and SIRIM Berhad for calibration services. While aerospace testing remain the core activities, CTRM TL targets to explore the business opportunities in the Oil and Gas in Malaysia and the region and further strengthen its calibration services for local markets. Through these partnerships, CTRM TL has now widen its scope to cover 5 main Industries namely Aerospace, Construction, Automotive, Electronics and Oil & Gas.


The 2nd annual CTRM COIN Convention was held at Melaka Trade Centre attended by 226 participants. Themed Culture of Innovation, this years convention has attracted 14 number of presentations with 10 teams shortlisted for final presentation during the event. Aimed at promoting Cost Optimization activities across the company, the event was strategically organized to encourage more staff participation and the sharing of knowledge.

The Revolutionaries team from Engineering Division won the 1st place for Convention Presentation followed by Apex 2.0 and The Deep Diver in 2nd and 3rd place respectively. Meanwhile The Numerical scored 1st place in poster competition, followed by T-3 team at 2nd place and The Revolutionaries at 3rd place. Prizes were given away by CTRM CEO, Shamsuddin Mohamed Yusof.

Charity Begins at Our Second Home, CTRM

CTRM Waqaf Corner, a noble initiative by the management to help lessen the financial burden of the lower income personnel and trainees in purchasing meals during working hours have received positive response from CTRM personnel of all levels. What started off as a small gesture of appreciation as part of Employee CSR program, the Waqaf Corner has now expanded to 2 kiosks with 2 more to be established soon. Based on ‘Free Market’ concept, the value of food donation has also increased tremendously from merely RM200 per month to RM1,000 per month for every kiosk. Our sincere thanks to all contributors. CTRM Aero Composites won Gold for Green Project Competition

The Anugerah Hijau Melaka (AHM) 2019, a recognition and appreciation award curated by Perbadanan Teknologi Hijau Melaka, named CTRM Aero Composites (CTRM AC) as Gold award recipient in ‘Green Project’ category for its effort in implementing green initiatives for the new building 6 (B6).

CTRM has been recognized with its brilliant and comprehensive sustainability programs through various energy management activities at the new building which impacts the energy efficiency, water efficiency and significant carbon emission reduction. Nor Azham Baharin, Chief Operating Officer, CTRM Aero Composites represented the company to receive the award at a ceremony graced by the State Government Exco of Housing, Local Government and the Environment Datuk Tey Kok Kiew
