CTRM CE secured a contract from SCOMI Rail (Malaysia) late last year to manufacture and supply composite inner and outer panels for its Mumbai Monorail project.

The contract involves design, manufacture, and supply of some 276 panels for each train set. All materials and processes used have to meet stringent fire, smoke, and toxicity requirements (NFPA 130, ASTM E162, and ASTM E662) set by the authority.

To date, CTRM CE 40 strong work forces has managed to deliver the panels ahead of schedule and are looking forward to other opportunities in the mass transportation industry.

The Monorail project is considered a pioneer project for CTRM in non-aerospace transportation industry and another major milestone for CTRM. The success of the project shall mark a focus for CTRM CE to offer its expertise and capability in coach panel building to the local and global market.
