Langkawi, 3 December 2009: Composites Technology Research Malaysia Sdn Bhd (CTRM), through its subsidiary, CTRM Aviation Sdn Bhd (CTRM AV) has been awarded with an Aircraft Maintenance Contract for the performance of maintenance and modification support for four (4) units of Learjet 35 Aircrafts owned by Aerotree Defence & Services Sdn Bhd.
Datuk Rosdi Mahmud, Chief Executive Officer of CTRM stated that this contract is in line with CTRM AVís aspiration to be a leading Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Centre for the General Aviation business segment in country. This is an addition to the existing contracts, such as Refurbishment of Cessna Caravan 208 Aircraft for the Royal Malaysian Police Air Wing Unit awarded in September 2009 and MRO activities for General Aviation aircraft such as Cirrus, Eagle, Piper and Diamond aircrafts.
This would be the very first time a Learjet 35 is intended to be registered with the Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia. The contract will require CTRM AV to maintain, repair, modify, paint and store the aircrafts at its facilities in Subang and Melaka. The tenure of the contract is five (5) years.
At the signing ceremony, En Abdul Razak Mohamad Zin, the Head of CTRM Aviation, represents CTRM, while Y Bhg Datuk Hajah Norida Hamzah, the Executive Director, represents Aerotree Defence & Services. YAB Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Datoí Haji Muhyiddin Yassin witnessed the event.
