Langkawi, 5 December 2007:
CTRM Aviation Sdn Bhd (CTRM AV), a subsidiary of Composites
Technology Research Sdn Bhd (CTRM) today sealed its
agreement to lease 26 units of its Eagle 150B light
aircrafts to Young Eagle Group of Thailand and Gulf
Golden International Flying Academy (GGIFA) of Malaysia.
In the early 1990s, CTRM AV started its business
in developing and manufacturing the Eagle 150B light
aircrafts, built from composites materials at its
facilities in Batu Berendam, Melaka. CTRM AV has
been certified by the Civil Aviation and Safety
Authority of Australia (CASA) followed by Federal
of Aviation Authority of the United States of America
(FAA) and other aviation authorities, Thailand,
New Zealand and Malaysia.
“In 2002, CTRM AV established its Aircraft
Leasing Services Division to overlook the sales
and lease activities for its Eagle aircrafts,”
explained Y Bhg. Datuk Rosdi bin Mahmud, Chief Executive
Officer, CTRM.
Operating from Don Muang and Bangphra Airport,
Young Eagle Company Limited also owns Phoenix Airline,
which is currently operating King Air as its charter
business. They also provide Commercial Pilot Programme
with Central Aircrew Training (CAT) of Australia
using their existing Piper and Cessna aircrafts,
which would be expanded with 10 Eagle 150Bs leased
from CTRM AV for period of 3 years.
GGIFA will be leasing a total of 16 Eagle 150Bs
packaged with maintenance and related support services
as a move to enhance its training capabilities at
its base in Bintulu Airport, Sarawak.
Currently there are 12 pioneer students conducting
their training at GGIFA and the number of enrolment
is expected to add up to 150 students at their temporary
campus. With the completion of their new 45-acre
campus, GGIFA is expected to train up a maximum
600 trainees.
“We are very pleased with the leasing contract
to supply the a total of 26 units of Eagle 150B
light aircraft to GGIFA and Young Eagle Group for
training purposes, especially for flight cadets
who are attending courses to acquire the Commercial
Pilot License. We are now a major light aircraft
supplier in this region,” says Y Bhg Datuk
Rosdi Mahmud, Chief Executive Officer, CTRM.
The signing of the leasing agreement is held at
Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre, in conjunction
with LIMA ’07. En Abd Razak Mohamad
Zin, Head of CTRM AV represents CTRM Aviation,
while Capt. Jiratid Ong-Aree represents
Young Eagle Company Limited and Y Bhg Dato’
Morshidi Abdul Rahman represents Gulf Golden
International Flying Academy. The signing is witnessed
by YAB Dato’ Seri Najib bin Tun Abdul
Razak, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia.
CTRM AV has also been leasing the Eagle 150B light
aircrafts to various flying clubs in the region.
