Composites Technology Research Malaysia Sdn Bhd (CTRM) was incorporated in November 1990. It is a Government Linked Company with Ministry of Finance Incorporated as its major shareholder.

CTRM is entrusted with strategic role to develop high technology based industries of aerospace and composites. The Government has considered that these two industries as critical constituents for the country’s future growth. In line with this vision, CTRM started its business operation with the production of a two-seater composites light aircraft, the Eagle 150B in 1991.

Since then, CTRM has managed to position itself as part of a global supply chain for composites aero structures. It is manufacturing and supplying composites aero structures for major aircraft manufacturers in the world.

CTRM also plays major influence in the local General Aviation industry. It does not only involved in the manufacturing of composites light aircraft, but also provides MRO services for General Aviation. It is also actively dealing with aircraft leasing activities.

Its business activities have spawned beyond the aerospace industry. CTRM is also making its presence in the automotive industry with the manufacturing of composites body shell for Lotus Europa S. It is also involved in the Motorsports industry as an official repairer for the teams participating in the Formula BMW Pacific.

CTRM is also recognised as a pioneer in the development of the local Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) with its Eagle ARV and ALUDRA Mk 1. It has also proven its mantel in defence industry by designing, manufacturing, supplying, installing and commissioning two units of RADOME for the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF).

Its future business plans are not only limited to aerospace, defence and automotive sectors. CTRM is planning to go beyond that. It is planning to diversify its businesses into transportation, marine, industrial and wind energy.

And for CTRM to be able to diversify into new businesses, it has developed and implemented its Three Prongs Business Operations. Each prong is assigned with specific tasks and responsibilities to ensure CTRM and its Group of Companies’ success in the future.
